| Every time you read this blog you donate one rupee to an over worked, under paid campus 18 correspondent.Thank you for reading this space. "So you're in a girls college, huh? Does'nt it get boring?" asked my sixteen year old sister. The question use to really get on my nerves a year back.Meditation helped (I don't strangle those who ask me that any more). She was trying to prod me to tell her stories from college. But getting back to the subject I would like to tell all boys and girls,"GIRLS COLLEGES ARE NOT BORING:!: ." They are the most fun place to be . For starters, people from girls colleges do not suffer fron the "Oh my Gawd, woh mujhe dekh raha hai" syndrome. From the moment you enter college you are accepted just like you are.Yes,with your bad hair days, zits at the wrong places(at the wrong time),hairy legs, mood swings, because we all know, just how you feel. Secondly since college life is when you make friends for life, you can totally find your soul mate here.Your gal pal.the one with whom you can talk for hours in the canteen, and then on the phone.with whom you can walk in the scorching heat and then travel in those crowded buses bitching to your hearts content. One can also get away with late nights, night outs, sleepovers, payjama parties, because we are all good girls looking for some good old fun.hair braiding, painting nails, gossiping and all (we're daddy's little princesses' ) Severe cases of shoppoholics, shoe fetishes are all treated.Broken hearts can be mended, and crying spells can banished, all under one roof.I wonder why:scratch: people think there can be no fun without boys, after all mating season comes once a year. In a country where ladies have to fight for the ladies seat, and travelling in the bus is a battle plan, where the length of your skirt determines the kind of person you are, and honour is lost if a girl chooses her own husband, but not when she is killed in the womb.A girls college teaches you to believe in your self when no one else does. | |

| So, you could have drawn it stringent, but you chose to paint it subtly. And even your colours are a shade lighter. I do not know if I am authorised to judge this. Or, if I may tell you how negligibly pleaful and immunizingly re-assuring is, what you have penned down Samridhi. But the need, of the need to realize it, has so sensitively been composed that it only gets stirring to empathise (use 'empathise' in it's most potent implication) at that certain phase of life, that the moments we so effortfully try and develop to be in, just cease to be so, and residue to merely an instance(s). And there aren't just a numerable things that make them. There are umpteen ones to which other innumerable only add to. Since you, I and others do know of those little perforations through which our cheery and happy times only seep through, I woudn't really write on them. But I must mention the articulation in, "because we all know, just how you feel.", "we're daddy's little princesses", "Broken hearts can be mended" (so loved this line), is so liberally empowering, that I just loved this one. There isn't a story to be read between the lines, because everything surges clearly on the face value of your usage. Very good yaar. Worth appreciation. | |

| well when the england cricket team comes to India ....they complain of the heat....cuz they are just nt used to it.n vice versa when India travels !
I feel co-ed prevents impairment of a person's social skills towards the opposite sex.this statement doesn t apply to everyperson there but can be true for many.
my college ,dce,is a psudo men's college (nt bcos it chooses to bt bcos gals choose to make it bcome one!),i do find many guys incapable of interacting with women (much less date).
the company and presence of both the sexes in a favorable and even ratio prevents needless "rowdiness" and the development of unnecessary feminism or male chauvinism thots that otherwise take root and grow like bamboo.
itz co ed 4 me.......i guess u cud say i ve seen both sides given that i went to a co ed school nd an engg college. | |

| MR. maverick.i too am from a co ed school. and i really don't miss the other sex in college. as for those with impaired social skills trust me, even if they had been with the other sex they wud have still found it dificult to interact.most men really don't see girls as humans. (no offense) | |

| most men really don't see girls as humans. (no offense) naah...thts nt true ...i think it would be a bit unfair to pass a judgement like this. all my life ive been in a co ed school (though now i think it would hv been better if i hd gone to a guys only school..sp the last two years.. ) and now the no.of girls in an engg. college is anybody's guess. bt i hv a point ...girls like chivalrous men..dnt they?? and how cn a guy b chivalrous when he hs beeen to an all boys school..... i think co -eds are better | |

| what's with guys being chivalrous or non-chivalrous being linked to wat school one has studied in??? chivalry is sumthin that comes naturally to a guy, sumthing he follows because he has been taught to respect girls, isn't that taught in an all boys school too??? and infact, is tehre a need to teach sumone to be chivalrous??? | |

| ankit sweetie,m sure co ed r better.but i am just trying to tell that girls colleges have their own charm.like most girls have understood. as far as men not seeing girls as humans, is concerned try talking to the college gunda. (i was a tom boy,had many guy frenz, was not much of a feminist then,in school) most of them conviniently label girls, as sluts,or bhehen or hot bandi. wat does chivilry have to do here?, colud'nt get the connection. | |

| okk...lemme make this clear... first of all...chivalry is not taught anywhere... we dnt hv lectures or tutes on chivalry..... second thing... it doesnt come naturally also.... its nt something u r born with.... when i said tht u need to go to a co ed to be chivalrous i jst meant tht in order to behave nicely with girls, u need to understand thm..and to understand thm, u hv to spend time with them..simple... instead of saying co ed...i could ve said "u need to be with a girl to understand her" bt tht would hv been wrong choice of wrds.... its nt tht guys frm all boys school are nt chivalrous... its jst tht interacting with only one sex does nt make sense to me.... nw teel me wht do u think abt it.... | |

| hmm..ankit...temme one thing.. when you were like an year old, and you hadn't interacted with the opposite sex...did you not be nice to your mother??? cmon dude...i am not saying chivalry is something that you are born with, but it is definitely something that grows within you when you grow....when you see people around you being nice to women, say your father being chivalrous enough to pull back the chair for your mom, you know it is the right thing and a good thing to do.. and as far as understanding the opposite sex and then being chivalrous to them is concerned...do you speak rudely or not be nice to some girl you meeet for teh first time? or do you think that i have to understand her, and spend tiem with her, and then understand what she expects out of me and then be that ways to her....you dont think al that sweet heart...you just do what comes naturally to you, what has been imbibed in you.... | |

| ok here goes.... i don't think "u need to be with a girl to understand her" would hav been wrong choice of words.it would have been rather appropriate.ne way, ankit there are also boyz in school (as u may know) co ed that is who bad mouth many girls.so it does not really matter if u r in a co ed or in a single sex school to respect women. as far as chivilry is concerned, different girls have different prefferances.i might love chivilrous men, and love it if men pay the bill, though my friend may want to go dutch, or would blow up if u opened the door for her. YA interaction may help but makes little differance. | |

| fine ...i agree... there are guys who re bad...bt all the girls arent nice also..hai na... ya it is something tht grows within the person...bt unless and until i interact with the fairer sex...hw would i underrstand hw to interact with thm... also ppl frm coed are more broad minded abt relationships...thts my personal opinion..... | |
