Fake Accents!!!!

Fake accents are certainly soo wannabe-ish…it would turn me off a bit…

I wouldn’t judge or be prejudiced against such a person too much…but I wouldn’t really get into a lengthy discussion with him either…

well fake accent sux!! for me we all shud speak english the way the natives used to! the natives of english know betta than us as it is there lang... we have jsut adopted it n we have no right mother it!!

adopt an accent... either US or UK ... any one which suits u.. but pls dont mother THEIR lang!!!

fake accent sounds very stupid .... it sounds totslly oput on n it seems lik the person dsnt knoe proper english n is trying to cover dt fact by using an accent n hoping to divert d attention frm his vocab ... lol

in british .. BUTTER is pronounced like.... B-ah-d-e-r... where as in us.. buTer....
r is not rolled in uk accent where as in us it is...

oh wow..someone's gettin v excited about the discussion..gives me a feelin that that someone has been using a fake accent for quite some time now..
An accent is derived from yor culture..from yor environment..i believe that if u sound diff from those arnd u who have grown up the same way u have..then ur obviously givin ur language a twist of yor own..n thats a cultivated accent which is very common..n not very criticised coz its alteast original..ive been told many a times that i have a 'cultivated' accent jst coz i love rolling my r's more than my frnds do..
bt fake accents r strictly those that r poor ears r subject to when e.g mr A is trying very hard to sound like an american or a britisher or an australian..ur not trying to sound original..ur jst trying to sound like someone frm some other country coz that's supposedly 'cooler..'
n yeah we've indianised many slang words so their usage dsnt rly imply a fake accent..bt the ones with v heavy sexual connotations shdnt be used in public..coz thats downright indecent..
isnt it fnny how ppl who've been born n brot up in india try n sound american?even funnier are those desperate ppl who go to america or britain fr a week or even a month,on a trip, and come back with an accent..like who's goin to fall for that???????how many americans have come to India for a week and gone back sounding indian..i wonder..
fake accents r jst a way of garnering attention..i gs some ppl don't mind what KIND of attention they r gettin..its like publicity i gs..no publicity is bad publicity!

there is no point in fighting over this small issue...............accents r cool so long as they r not fully fake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! may be i am being slightly partial coz i hav slightly american accent but its not fake (if u ppl believe that is!!!!!!!!! ) but when i speak it sounds very normal...............
