| I am a civil engineering student, and ironically enough, nothing irks me more than drawing, especially when I don't understand what I'm making. I've gone through a year of ED and MD(machine drawing), and now we have BD(building drawing). But the advantage this time is, I'm a senior, and can bully a fresher to make my sheets...........(I know I sound evil, but trust me, after a year, you don't really wanna bend over a sheet till 3 a.m. in the morning! Anyway, I had written some posts last year about this agony of mine on my blog, and I here is one of them: TOP 5 WAYS TO COMPLETE YOUR ED SHEETS ON TIME!!
1. Topa maar, yaar! In DCE lingo, this means that you copy a completed sheet using a glass and a lamp and loads of fat books (slightly complicated in the begining, but once you get started you can litreally mint sheets). It’s the fastest and easiest method so far (and also the most popular, esp. in the boys’ hostel). 2. Copy the Sheet.Take someone’s completed sheet and copy each diagram, line by line, angle by angle. A bit time consuming, but it all depends on your copying abilities. 3. Take Pix.If you are more tech-savvy then try this out. Take photos of individual questions and then take their printouts. You can also mail them around to your friends. 4. Take photocopies. Not recommended. Pencil doesn’t come out very clearly in Xeroxes and you won’t be able to see the generator lines at all. So most of your time will be spent trying to understand where the drawing started and ended. Instead, it would be better to try out the next method……..which is…………… 5. Do It Yourself!!!So what if this takes the maximum time? It is definitely rewarding. The M.Tech. students who check the sheets know a self made sheet when they see one. I’ve done it, and I’ve got an 8 on the sheet I had shown(now progressed to 9). Though, I would confess that if I would have had the arrangement to copy a sheet in my home, I’d have definitely done that! P.S. The picture shown is one of the sheets made by me.......... P.P.S. and if you have ED/MD/BD too, do share your experiences with me.........

| i m not a civil engg student...but still in our comp sc & engg curriculam...v have ED..it is the most boring stuff i have ever encountered in my life....ur suggestions r really interesting...but there is a 6th way out also... which is very famous in our college. 6.Ask any frnd anyone may ask any frnd to do his\her sheet on behalf. | |

| hey i had tech drawing in my school days......... the best way to draw the picture real fast is to take a frends sheet.... put it on a glass table.....get a table lamp or something and put the light under the glass table...... make sur the light is well focused on the diagram...... now take ur sheet and put it on top of ur frends sheet.......... the image on ur frends sheet will be clearly visible..... just adjust the light as per ur requirement and do a free hand or use ur scale and stuff...... and to make sure that ur teacher does not find out that u have traced the pic...... make sure u make holes with the compass on all the places where one is required........... all the best... | |

| @avi: well the method u described is the one i was talking about as "topa marna".......i am no guru.......but the guys in my class definitely are.....
and yes.......we did not eat in the middle of drawings....as it would spoil our sheet......but play music
@srimoyi : i do wish i had frnds like urs.......not that im blaming mine......but they themselves had so much to do that we could never think of charity........
@coolguy.rishabh : the comp students crib here also.......they had ED in the 1st sem and now MD........as for deadlines....the prof are heartless.......we did 7 sheets in one week and im not exaggerating..........

| Well out here we can give the sheets along with the questions to some guys who do it in about three hours.....Thats really great compared to my speed ....I have also tried the widely famous GT technique but i messd up completely!! the whole sheet was at an angle to the border....There are also some workshops who'll do the job in no time and that at affordable costs........ I am a Mechanical Engg student currently in S.E. God knows how a am gonna survive the next 3 years | |

| i know that eating could spoil the sheets........ what we did was that we made sir get us samosas..... we would sit and have the samosas outside the class....clean up come back into the class and then work..... i liked the class becoz we had loads of fun...even if we were surrounded by weird isometrics and geometrical drawings..... | |

| @blue_bantoo : yes, there are ppl who will make a sheet for u if u pay them, i thought u were talking about doing sheets as a favour......
@mayo: i dont think making sheets is a pain once u are a senior......in dce we all hand them to first years......i know its mean, but helps u to pass at least....
@avi : nice to hear that your "sir" gets u samosas........
@dcemaverick: in my case it was only the spiral that i got right.........i totally messed up projection of lines.......but yes, managed to pass.....
