Hmm...is this in relation to the Kyoto Protocoal? The buying of green gas emmissions from countries that dont require much of it?

So if its different, then please tell us more about carbon trading and in what respect you want us to discuss this?

Ya finally I know what Carbon Trading is...You are right arjun! It
basically corners the developed nations...because they are the
producers of high levels of green house gases....and the UN has made
them agree to the kyoto protocol which makes it mandatory for them to
control their emssions...each country has been given its own %
reduction in emissions that it has to achieve by the end of a deadline!

But since the technology and demand in these developed countries doesnt
allow them to reduce their own emissions...they have devised a new
strategy to attain their goal. They have started buying Reductions in
Carbon emmissions in tonnes, from other countries - a phenomenon known
as CARBON TRADING!...

there are different parts of this Trading...say for example CDM...Clean
Development Mechanism...wherein the countries fund and help the
developing countries to reduce their carbon emmisiions and gain credit
themselves!

Ah...i was guessing it was something to do with it, cause i remember someone mentioning it to me and I have never heard any other policy on environment issues.

Yes, i think there were some problems with the Kyoto Protocol, which were also discussed in the UN and WTO rounds, but i think they failed...but i dont have the full information on it at the moment.

About time Carbon Trading started, giving developing and even developed countries deadlines to reduce emissions would have been tougher to implement than it sounds, this sounds practical.
