they are the famous one , other than these too, the city has mughal constructions randomly around the city.
Specialities: - delhi is a total food city.its known for the variety of food that it offers. Chandini Chowk which is a part of the old delhi, has a stretch of road called the paranthe waali gali, which is known for the paranthas of course. they offer different kinds of paranthas, like mirchi ka parantha, papad ka parantha and those kinds which you can never imagine the paranthas are made of.
- delhi is known for the chats and the golguppas( as panipuris are called here).the famous chat waalas are in Karol Bagh an extensive market of delhi.
- kulfi- that's another very famous eatable of delhi..different kinds of kulfis like matka kulfi, kesar pista kulfi etc are very famous especially of karol bagh and chandini chowk.
- delhi also is the hub for all the franchise to open first, that is because of the tax redemption the state has as compared to the other cities.
- delhi is known for the punjabi food too, being a very punjabi dominated place.
Shopping:
Delhi is cheaper as compared to the other metros when it comes to shopping.
the famous markets are:
- Janpat- known for the foreign visitors, janpath has everything that Delhi or north India can boast of, the cheapest bargains take place here.
-Karol Bagh- the place is known for the wedding collections of any range starting from mere 100 to one lakh two lakhs.besides this the karol bagh market or the gaffar market is known for all the electrical equipments, export/import materials at very low prices.
-Chandini chowk- it is one of the oldest shopping places of delhi. chandini chowk is another city all together. the place is full of life. the master attraction of chandini chowk is at dusk, when the entire chandini chowk is lit. It looks like a festival everyday. chandini chowk is also known for the food, the wedding dress, the export/import materials etc.
-sarojini nagar, lajpat nagar, kamla nagar market- they are like the normal shopping hub
- monastery- this is a very special small place in the north campus which is dominated by the north eastern community and this monastery has all the stuff from there run by them.
- dilli haat, crafts museum are two very famous hangouts.

besides these the young hangout at the priya complex, east delhi is nknown for the malls, southext. etc.
mode of transport- Delhi is very proud of its metro, from holding to almost 25lakh passengers everyday to an almost fully connecting mode of transport. besides these newer buses which are known as the high capacity buses are being introduced. the Delhi transport Co-operation( a.k.a dtc buses) have been in news lately for the rash driving and carrying any no. of passengers. taxi is not very popular in delhi. Autos have no meters so basically delhi transport, besides the metro sux!
though not fashion hub but delhi also has a style of its own...kurtas, chappals and jholas are the basic style statement that delhi carries. people are warm and friendly. though delhi is also the running for the most unsafe city in the world, with crime rates crossing all lines.
Also India's biggest jail is in delhi. It is the most high profile jail- Tihar Jail.
