Once upon a time
There lived a nut
And a strange nut was she
For she could’nt find her hut
Fir she wouldn’t come out of her shell
She didn’t want to hear the bell
The bell that beckoned
Her to come outside
Take a look at the world
See, feel and smell the sights
The shell won’t break
The nut refused to stake
The cover for the call
It was the same routine everyday
The nut rolled up and the nut rolled down
The same old road downtown
And a protected nut was she
Then one fine day
An old man arrived
With a great white beard and twinkling eyes
He wore a grey anorak
That had a huge pocket
That had a thing
That would make nuts crack
A nutcracker he carried
In the huge pocket
Of his grey anorak
Now the nut got scared
As the nutcracker
Would crack open
The shell of the nut
And the nut
Would fall out
Of the shell
Now that would put her in a rut
A big big rut
So she wriggled her way
To the bottom of the jar
So the old man
Would miss her
She stayed at the bottom
And prayed and prayed
That the hell-bound hand
Would swipe the other nut
But destined for the hand was she
For the old man
Pushed to the bottom
And brought her out
With the nutcracker
He crushed her
The shell broke
The shield it was gone
And the nut was provoked
She rolled out of the hand
And out of the house
And rolled and rolled
Till she found her hut
Where the other nuts awaited
Today the nut
Lives in her hut
And faces no rut
For she does her work
And takes the risk
And leaves the rest to luck
That’s my “coco”nut!!!
