| when it comes to equality of men and women, then the famous argument that is thrown by men is "the superiority of men in the context of the physical strength".... which is in many ways irrefutable. men are physically stronger than women, not because they are meant to be but because from the early ages men have engaged themselves into hardcore acivities of hunting, while women bear the excruciating pain of childbirth. the bone weight of males is much more than women. also i would like to point out an very important issue of society treating a baby on the basis of its sex from the very moment the babay is born. the momnt the sex of a child is known to public the differences in the treatment starts. you must all have noticed that girls are spoken to more soflty, and are directed to do thigns which are conventionally "womanlike"... while boys are encouraged towards sports and activities which are bound to make them more stronger physically. returning to the issue of reservaton of seats in buses, women are not always in their best shapes due to their reproductive cycles. and also they cannot express their condition blatantly. thus i think in this scenario, reserving seats for women in buses is the best way men can help women, to overcome their physical shortcoming, in this context. i completely disagree with dhruv to bring in chivalry here... it is an old fashioned concept and also prmotes discrimantion towards women under the disguise of "chivarly".. it is more important to look into the logical side of the situation and personaly i hate the concept of this "chivarly"... it may appeal to women sometimes but i consider it as a rotten reason........... | |

| One question: what is the connection between "laadz seat" and ladies' seat? Reading the topic title I thought it referred to the last seat in a cinema or something. | |

| @sam An 'i' in between the 'd' and 'z' would have done the trick. Also you could have done with a single 'a'. | |

| I think it is important becoz the public buses are crowded wid men, finding every opportunity to feel up the other sex, finding a seat is a relief from that atleast | |

| i agree with angita...if u are a girl and travel by those over crowded dtc buses regularly..(i am lucky enough to have the metro at my college doorstep though)...u’d know what its like to be in bus where men of all ages keep falling on u every time the driver breaks….ladies seats are really essential I must say… | |
