Chastisement
I abjure all pride,
Chastisement the only way,
Nowhere to wander, hide,
For the faith gone astray.
I lie in depths so deep,
I can not see the light,
In darkened chambers you keep,
To learn humility through the night.
Can thy hands take more?
For thou has taken my dignity,
Will thee take me through the door,
Deliver me from wicked eternity.
I must burn in the light,
When life has left me marred,
A wretched piteous sight,
For my heart is left scarred.
You speak of my crimes my sin,
But thou did not see,
Thou will not take me in,
Thou will not put end to me.
